The bubbling sound of a Roland CR-78 drum machine grooving paired with funky yet soft-hearted Dutch new wave - Don Melody Club's upcoming new EP is due to be released on January 16th 2024, with the project available for shows in April & May and festivals in summer.
"Zonder Pardon" is the new offering by the Dutch rhythm box sensation Don Melody Club, the brainchild and solo project of Donald Madjid, who earned his stripes as a member of festival favorite The Mauskovic Dance Band. "Zonder Pardon", immerses the listener in a seductive underwater jungle of uptempo drum machine rhythms, pulsating bass lines, and unashamedly melodramatic melodies.
In concert and on festivals, Donald and band conjure an intimate atmosphere and make the crowd shake in a warm 80s disco-feel and a touch of the original Mauskovic-heat. The Dutch lyrics sound fresh and inspire the listeners' fantasy, making the music very accessible and at the same time open to one's interpretation. Playing together in different constellations for over 10 years now, the members of Don Melody Club (most of them members of the Mauskovic gang) have a virtuoso way of locking into a groove that can be best experienced live.
„Donny“ Madjid gained fame with his first solo album "Pure Donzin" in 2021 and a well-received 7'' single on the internationally renowned label Bongo Joe. With performances at the acclaimed Dutch festivals, Le Guess Who?, Noorderslaag and Grasnapolsky, Don Melody Club firmly established himself as a solo artist and are now eager to take over the world (or at least, the rest of Europe).
Don Melody Club are available via planet rock in Europe outside the Benelux countries: Tour period: April-June 2023, please ask for festival appearances and one offs.
